Summer is upon us! I hope you are doing something special with
people you like.
Sometimes I feel like I have said all I know, and then someone
asks a question, and I want to share the answer with everyone.
Thus, the article below....
Thank you, as always, for reading.

"After-Dinner
Speaker? Me?"
|
| |
"What am I supposed to say?"
From time to time, clients tell me they have been invited to
speak at an event outside the realm of day-to-day work. Even
people who seldom worry about work-related presentations often
struggle when preparing to talk to an audience that is not their
own peers, employees, or customers. As a result, they invest too
much time, feel too much stress, and often are not satisfied with
the final product and performance.
Let's make this easy. The process for preparing the
"after-dinner speech" is actually just like the process you follow
for a business presentation, except it's, well, even more simple.

Looking Back
|
| |
There are a few articles that I go back to time and time again in
response to conversations with clients.
Since a question from one often indicates the same concerns
from others, here are the links:
Organizing winning presentations:
"We Don't Do It That Way"
Offering useful feedback:
"You Suck"
Responding--on time--in general--appropriately:
"How Hard Can It Be?"
Confirming the perception of your credibility:
"Credibility Check! How's Yours?"
