Summer is upon us! I hope you are doing something special with people you like.

Sometimes I feel like I have said all I know, and then someone asks a question, and I want to share the answer with everyone. Thus, the article below....

Thank you, as always, for reading.

Sherron

  • "After-Dinner Speaker? Me?"
  •
"What am I supposed to say?"

From time to time, clients tell me they have been invited to speak at an event outside the realm of day-to-day work. Even people who seldom worry about work-related presentations often struggle when preparing to talk to an audience that is not their own peers, employees, or customers. As a result, they invest too much time, feel too much stress, and often are not satisfied with the final product and performance.

Let's make this easy. The process for preparing the "after-dinner speech" is actually just like the process you follow for a business presentation, except it's, well, even more simple.

Read how to prepare a perfect after-dinner speech in a hurry....

  • Looking Back
  •
There are a few articles that I go back to time and time again in response to conversations with clients.

Since a question from one often indicates the same concerns from others, here are the links:

    Organizing winning presentations:

"We Don't Do It That Way"

    Offering useful feedback:

    "You Suck"

    Responding--on time--in general--appropriately:

    "How Hard Can It Be?"

Confirming the perception of your credibility:

    "Credibility Check! How's Yours?"

Did I miss one you want to read again, or do you have a question? Email me: Sherron@ChinUp.net.

  • Remember: Chin Up!
  •

Believe in yourself--who you are and what you have to offer.

Chin up! Know that your contributions are right on target because you are smart, experienced, and prepared.

Chin up! Feel confident in what you know and what you are worth.

Chin up! Stand up straight, hold your head high, face issues and people head on.

Please email me with your comments, questions, and stories. Thanks again for reading! --Sherron
