Hello to you all.
Two readers submitted requests for article topics: "managing
guilt" and "asking for something specific to close the deal."
Since I can only write about what I know, please see the
article below. As for the first request, well, I feel guilty about
that . . . .
Thank you, as always, for reading.

What I Really Want to Say . . . (To Close the Deal)
|
| |
I was invited to review the presentation that a top executive was
preparing for an international conference. Her staff had designed
a slide deck for her, and she began her briefing with those
materials.
After a moment, she paused, pushed the deck away, looked
directly at me, and said, "This is what I really want to say." And
then she said it.
I could not take my eyes off her. She was so incredibly
engaging and persuasive. I was completely sold--on her, on her
product, on her company.
For this issue, I wrote an article on how to ask for something
specific to close the deal, relying on my basic materials about
understanding your situation and audience, etc., etc. But this is
what I really want to say:
In order to be perceived as credible and persuasive by your
target audience, there are just two rules:
- Believe in it with all your heart and mind.
- Make it all about them.
Whatever "it" is. |
